Dear Member,
The National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP) is one of India’s most ambitious initiatives aimed at transforming the country’s industrial and urban landscape. The programme envisions the development of next-generation Greenfield smart industrial cities equipped with world-class infrastructure, integrated logistics, and state-of-the-art technologies to position India among the leading global manufacturing destinations.
Under this programme, a network of industrial corridors is being developed in close coordination with State Governments to promote manufacturing competitiveness, generate employment, and accelerate socio-economic growth. These smart industrial cities focus on sustainable, inclusive, and investment-friendly ecosystems intended to support the industries of the future.
As of date, 20 major projects under NICDC are at various stages of development, including 4 completed projects, 4 nearing completion, and 12 newly approved projects. Details of these 20 projects are as follows:

NICDC seeks to draw upon global best practices and learnings from international models where specific cities/regions have successfully evolved as sector-specific manufacturing hubs. Such regional specialization has played a key role in strengthening exports and increasing global competitiveness in leading manufacturing economies. In this context, NICDC has requested CAPEXIL to solicit inputs/suggestions from member exporters on:
- Ideas for developing region-specific industrial specialization across India, aligned with export strengths.
- Recommendations for potential sectors that can be suitably located within NICDC’s Greenfield smart industrial cities.
- Global examples or innovative concepts that may support India’s long-term manufacturing and export competitiveness.
Members are requested to kindly share their valuable suggestions at the earliest to cmd@capexil.in. Your insights will play an important role in shaping the future industrial ecosystem of the country. Brochure attached for your reference.
We look forward to your proactive participation and contribution.
